LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The purpose of the Lawrence Township Improvement Committee is to enrich
the lives of Lawrence Township residents and guests by providing for
the needs of our senior citizens, adults, and children through social
activities, sports and recreational activities, the preservation and/or
restoration of historical artifacts, continuing to improve our safety
services, and preserving the overall beauty and development of our
township.
These goals will be accomplished by:
Creation of a Senior Citizen/Township Activities Center.
Creation of a Sports Complex(s) for all residents that will include:
Softball/Baseball diamonds
Tennis Courts
Basketball courts
Skateboard park
Soccer Field
Developing a fitness area & walking tracks.
Work by our committee, or in conjunction with other area groups, to
help improve, enhance, and further our historic heritage such as the
Ohio-Erie Canal, Sandy-Beaver Canal and Fort Laurens
Strive to provide more fulltime Police and Fire Protection and upgrade
their equipment and training
Our committee was awarded a federal 501 ‘(C) 3 tax exempt status
to allow us to accept donations and grants from charitable organizations,
businesses, and individuals that would like to help Lawrence Township
and also receive possible tax deductions.
