LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP
COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION (C.I.C.)
MISSION STATEMENT
The Lawrence Township Community Improvement Corporation (C.I.C.) was
formed with the purpose to advance, encourage, and promote the industrial,
economic, commercial, and civic development of Lawrence Township to
enhance the lives of our residents, businesses, employees, and guests.
The first order of business was to start the Lawrence Township Industrial
Park just south of the Village of Bolivar, between Fort Laurens Road
and Strasburg-Bolivar Road. There are currently eighteen (18) businesses
in the industrial park. The location of this park is very advantageous
because of the close proximity to Interstate 77, which is less than
one mile, and the railroad at the edge of the park. Most of the lots
were sold within the first several years. The businesses there have
done very well at keeping this area clean and well kept. They are
proud of this area.
Please contact the L.T.C.I.C. with any inquiries for property availability
and
someone will be glad to discuss this with you.

Regular meetings for the Lawrence Township C.I.C. are held monthly
on the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM or immediately following
the regular meeting at the township hall.
The L.T.C.I.C. is now in the process of developing about 80 acres
of prime, flat land in Wilkshire Hills for a business park. This land
is also within 1-1⁄2 miles of Interstate 77, 10 minutes from
Canton, Dover/New Philadelphia, 75 minutes from Cleveland, and 2 hours
from Columbus. It is serviced by State Route 212, has all utilities,
mainly flat terrain, and wireless Internet services provided by Wilkshire
Communications. The area presently has a 60-bed hotel, McDonalds restaurant,
Wendy’s restaurant, Georgio’s restaurant, gas station,
Giant Eagle grocery store, dentist office, 18-hole golf course, Veterinary
office, Charter One Bank, several realtor’s, and doctor’s
office, and many more.
The Lawrence Township Trustees have contracted with the Tuscarawas
County Sheriff for additional police protection to help with the increasing
amount of residences and businesses. Fire prevention and protection,
ambulance service, and rescue are provided by the Bolivar Volunteer
Fire Department. It has one of the best-staffed, trained, and equipped
departments around. They have two firefighter/paramedics on station
from 6:00 am to 6:00 p.m. every weekday, and from 6:00 am to 10:00
p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. |
